Primary & Secondary

Osage School

A small school for the children of the Osage ecosystem and the neighborhoods we build alongside.

What we teach

A classical curriculum — language, mathematics, history, the natural sciences, music, and the body — taught in small cohorts. The Osage language is offered from kindergarten in cooperation with the Osage Nation’s immersion program at Daposka Ahnkodapi. Students who finish here read deeply, write clearly, and can do arithmetic in their heads.

What we do not teach

We do not teach to a standardized test. We do not teach for outcomes we cannot defend at parent-teacher conference. We do not pretend that children educate themselves through screens.

Heritage

The school is a sister institution to Osage Academy (vocational and professional training) and Osage University (research and higher learning). Students who continue through all three pass through one of the longest classical pipelines in North America.

Admissions

Limited admissions; small cohorts. Tinker Scholar bursaries cover tuition for qualifying Native American students. [email protected].
